Your privacy in LUNA

Here is what LUNA keeps about you and what happens to it. It takes one minute to read.

What LUNA keeps

Your name, your email, your class, the files you add, your answers and your scores.

Why

To make quizzes and study plans for you and to show how you are doing. Never for ads, and we never sell it.

Who can see it

You. Your teacher sees the work and scores for their class. Your parent sees your progress if you are connected. Other students only see what you share with them.

LUNA's AI helpers

To make quizzes and check written answers, LUNA sends your school work to AI companies (OpenAI, Anthropic, Mathpix). We do not send your name or email. OpenAI and Anthropic do not use it to train their AI.

AI can be wrong

When LUNA's AI marks an answer or gives feedback, it is a suggestion. It can be wrong, and your teacher decides. Think a mark is wrong? Press “Ask my teacher to review this mark”.

Counting time

LUNA counts how long you spend in each part of the app each day, to make it better. It never saves what you type for this.

You are in charge

You or your parent can download everything or delete your account in Account settings. Questions? Ask your teacher or parent.

Stay safe

Keep your password secret. Do not upload other people’s private information.

For parents and guardians

LUNA is a study app. Here is, in short, what happens to your child's data. The full Privacy Policy has the details.

What we collect

  • Account: name, email, role, birth date or age, class.
  • School work: files your child or the teacher adds, quizzes and plans LUNA makes, answers, scores and progress per topic and skill.
  • Marks and short feedback suggested by AI for written answers; reviews a teacher made.
  • Messages between your child and their teachers inside LUNA.
  • How long each part of LUNA is used per day, and how much AI each account used. Never what your child types, for these counts.
  • One cookie that keeps your child logged in. No advertising or tracking cookies.

Who sees it

  • Your child.
  • Teachers your child is connected to: the work and scores for their class.
  • You, if your account is connected to your child: progress, and you can download or delete the data.
  • Nobody else, unless your child shares something. Children cannot make open connections with people they do not know, and cannot sell anything in the marketplace.

AI

  • To make study material and suggest marks, the text, pictures and questions a task needs are sent to OpenAI, Anthropic and, for formulas, Mathpix. Names and email addresses are not sent; emails and phone numbers typed in answers are removed first.
  • Under their business terms OpenAI and Anthropic do not use data sent through their API to train their models. We ask every provider not to keep it longer than needed.
  • AI marks and feedback are suggestions. They can be wrong. The teacher decides what counts, and a student can ask the teacher to review any mark. LUNA never makes decisions about your child on its own.

Consent

  • In Spain a child under 14 needs a parent's or guardian's consent (under 13 in the UK and the US). You give it by email when your child signs up, on the school's paper form, or inside LUNA from your parent account.
  • You can withdraw it at any time: delete your child's account from “My children”, or tell the teacher or us. The data is then erased.

Your rights

  • See, download, correct and delete your child's data, and object to how it is used.
  • Complain to the data protection authority: the AEPD in Spain (aepd.es), the ICO in the UK (ico.org.uk); in the US, the FTC.
